The Equitable Hiring Solutions team is seeking a full-stack software engineer to help us design, build, and launch new frontend user experiences, backend APIs and data pipelines to ensure that every Jobseeker who wants a job can fairly apply to one!

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with behavioral scientists, designers, product managers and other engineers to understand the job seeker’s journey in a data-driven way
  • Design software engineering solutions to barriers that job seekers face that will scale to hundreds of millions of requests a day
  • Guide the development of those solutions hands-on, or through others
  • Design frontend components that can be embedded into other products using modern React
  • Help improve our technical stack and processes
  • Maintain existing tools and infrastructure as necessary
  • Participate in usability testing
  • Work as part of a team to deliver large, cross-organizational projects
  • Help the team prioritize and plan projects that can demonstrate impact and be delivered incrementally

To do this, we
  • build and deploy new user experiences and fine-tune them in a data-driven and experimental way
  • develop data pipelines that enable analysis of the systemic barriers faced by job-seekers
  • partner with other teams across Indeed to guide them on how to implement more equitable hiring solutions in their domain

Who You Are

You will be responsible for collaborating with technical leads to design & implement new user experiences and roll them out across Indeed. You will work with a Product Manager and a UX Designer on the problem being solved and derive possible solutions in terms of a UI, a backend or analytics. You should possess a mix of technical strength, business strength and good product ideas.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent tenured experience building software solutions at scale.
  • 5+ years experience in Java, Python, or C++ - Java preferred (multiple programming languages is a plus)
  • Experience working in a cloud native environment (AWS/GCP/Azure, K8s/serverless)
  • Experience with full stack application development, including web app development in a modern Javascript framework (React, Vue, Angular)
  • Experience with GraphQL API development is a plus
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with CI/CD
  • Experience with using agile methodologies for software development.
  • Experience with problem-solving in a social impact space is a plus.

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.

Austin 109,000 - 159,000 USD per year

NYC Metro Area 134,000 - 194,000 USD per year

SF Bay Area 140,000 - 204,000 USD per year

Seattle 132,000 - 192,000 USD per year
